Family, Fun & Fitness 5K
In conjunction with Endurance Sports Marketing, Boulder Creek Events is proud to announce the 1st Annual Family, Fun & Fitness 5K, a featured event at the 12th Annual Boulder Creek Hometown Fair.
In a community known for being the pinnacle of the outdoor lifestyle, the 5K walk will target families and individuals who are inspired be physically active while enjoying time together in beautiful downtown Boulder. The 5K walk will begin at 9am on Monday, September 6th, 2010 on the Boulder Municipal lawn and will be an out-and-back course on the Boulder Creek Path. Volunteers and support staff will be available for assistance, and aid stations will be set up at intervals along the route.
Participants will gather and end at the Boulder Creek Hometown Fair Sports & Kids’ Expo, an event area on the Municipal Building lawn consisting of various organizations, services and equipment geared toward Boulder’s active, fitness-oriented community. In addition to food and beverages, a climbing wall, mountain bike course for kids, product displays, and skills clinics, this area will also include several top athletic gear and apparel companies on hand to offer their amazing items at discount and close out prices.
Proceeds from the Family, Fun & Fitness 5K Walk will benefit LiveWell Colorado. LiveWell Colorado is a nonprofit organization committed to reducing obesity in Colorado by promoting healthy eating and active living. In addition to educating and inspiring people to make healthy choices, LiveWell Colorado focuses on policy, environmental and lifestyle changes that remove barriers and increase access to healthy behaviors. Working in partnership with obesity prevention initiatives across the state, LiveWell Colorado aims to provide every Coloradoan with access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity in the places they live, work, learn and play.
