The mission of Boulder Creek Events is to produce successful, family-oriented events that strengthen, empower, and inspire community members, local businesses and philanthropic organizations to get involved, connect and thrive.
Chris Dailey, who started volunteering with the Boulder Creek Festival® in 1995, founded BCE in 1998 and has been the CEO and Executive Director ever since. He has served as a volunteer fire fighter with the Sugarloaf Fire Department from 1996 until 2004, when he moved from the mountain district; during his tenure with the department, he was awarded the prestigious “Fire Fighter of the Year” award in 1999. Chris has also volunteered his expertise in the event planning field, as well as his carpentry skills, to countless programs and local events over the past twenty years. In his spare time, Chris enjoys kayaking, woodworking, and spending time with his son, Nik.
Director of Communications
In February 2002, Meg Denbow joined Chris at BCE. Meg holds a BA in English from Michigan State University, and at BCE she works with media, community relations, anything booth-related at our events, and serves as the unofficial in-house writer and editor. Giving back to the community and having the amazing opportunity to help dozens of groups and causes is Meg’s favorite part of working with BCE; she actively supports several local non-profits that are meaningful to her, including Bonfils Blood Center, There With Care, and Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue, and she currently serves as the Vice President on the board of directors for the Michigan State University Rocky Mountain Alumni Club.
Director of Operations
Mike Puretz began his career with BCE in 2006 as the BCF Volunteer Coordinator before being hired on as a permanent staff member in April 2008. Originally from Okemos, Michigan, he holds a BS in Commercial Recreation from Michigan State University. Mike is a certified ski instructor at Keystone Ski & Ride School throughout the winter months, and he also enjoys playing soccer and softball. He recently married his wife, Michelle, whom he met through working at BCE. Most importantly, he’s an avid MSU fan – GO SPARTANS!!!
Special Events Coordinator & Talent Buyer
Krista Kennedy joined the BCE team in February 2018 as Special Events Coordinator. She comes to Colorado from Knoxville, TN, where she received a BA in Music and Music Business minor at the University of Tennessee. Krista has extensive experience in event planning, festival management, music performance, and patron relations. She has a passion for working with non-profit organizations, having worked with many across the country including the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Wintergreen Performing Arts, the Joy of Music School, and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. In her personal life, she loves to travel and learn about other cultures, drink local craft beer, and spend time with friends and family.
